Decristofaro, Kost named Football Players of the Week in Centennial
LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus nabbed two weekly awards from the
Centennial Conference on Sunday afternoon as the conference
released its players of the week for football.
Senior quarterback Justin Decristofaro (Jenkintown,
Pa./Father Judge) was named as Offensive Player of the
Week, while sophomore defensive back Joe Kost (Freeland,
Pa./Hazleton Area) was named as Defensive Player of the
Week.
Decristofaro became the first quarterback since 1999 to throw for
over 2,000 yards in season as he went 16-for-30 on Saturday for 205
yards and three touchdowns as the Bears defeated Dickinson 35-32.
Decristofaro threw TD passes of 38, 6, and 13 yards in the win.
Kost picked off a career-best three passes, and had three pass
breakups in the win.
Ursinus (6-4, 6-2 Centennial) won six games in league play for the
first time since 1999 and are still alive for a possible ECAC bowl
bid which will be announced Monday.
