ITA Academic Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. - Jake Lachowicz, a rising junior on the Ursinus College men's tennis team, was named a Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

A Sciences major, Lachowicz was selected to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll this spring. On the court, he finished 4-1 at number six singles, including his first career CC win against McDaniel.

Lachowicz's honor gives the Bears an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive season. Ursinus was 12-7 overall and 4-5 in CC play in 2017, ending the campaign ranked 19th in the ITA Atlantic South poll.
