COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College softball team has announced a pair of prospect camps in the coming months. The Bears' summer prospect day is slated for July 9, while the fall camp will be held on September 1. The clinics are open to student-athletes in grades 9-12 and will run from 9 AM to 3:30 PM on Eleanor Frost Snell Field.
The goal of an Ursinus prospect day is to educate future student-athletes and provide campers with the opportunity to enhance their skills. Athletes will be under the direction of head coach Samantha Campo in additon to some of her staff and current and former players.
The camp will focus on hitting, fielding, pitching (with speed gun), catching, game play, and evaluation. Participants are asked to bring glove, cleats, sneakers, lunch/money for lunch, batting globes, sliders, bat, helmet, catcher's gear, and water bottle.
Check-in begins at 8:15 AM at the softball field. In the event of rain, the clinic will move indoors to the Floy Lewis Bakes Center. The cost of the camp is $110, which includes a t-shirt for all participants.
Registration and payment are due by July 3 for the summer edition and by August 29 for the fall camp.
