Women's Golf Opens Spring Season

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's golf team teed up the spring portion of its schedule at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, sending three to weather wet and windy conditions at Hanover Country Club.

Junior Sarah Thompson led the way for Ursinus, matching the best score of her career with a 92 (+21) to tie for 14th overall in a field of 41 individuals. Thompson posted par on four holes, including the par-5 1st.

Sophomore Emily McGarrigle finished 20th with a 94 (+23), a round that included three pars; one of them came on the par-5 17th.

Junior Shelby Bryant rounded out the Bears' contingent with a 129.

The women's golf team is right back in action on Sunday, when they travel to Tanglewood Manor Country Club for the Millersville Invitational. The Bears then head to Lehigh Country Club to take part in the Muhlenberg Invitational on Monday, capping a stretch of three tournaments in as many days.
