Three named All-Centennial

LANCASTER, Pa. - Ursinus put two players on the All-Centennial Women's Soccer team on Tuesday morning, as the team was released by the conference office. The team was voted upon by the league's 11 head coaches.

Sophomore midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named second-team, while senior forward Megan Ascanio (Reading, Pa./Exeter) and sophomore back Monica Oliveto (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) were named honorable mention.

Porcelan, who was a first-team selection as a freshman, had six goals and three assists for a total of 15 points, which was second-best on the squad. She ranked tenth in the Centennial Conference in points and was eighth in goals. She was also named All-Centennial All-Academic.

Ascanio led the Bears with eight goals and four assists for a total of 20 points, which was a team-high. She ranked among the leaders in the Centennial Conference in several categories, including points (third) and goals (fourth).

Oliveto was third on the team in points with 12, and was also third on the team in goals with five. She was also part of a defensive unit that posted four shutouts during the season. She, like Porcelan, was named to the All-Centennial All-Academic team.
