BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Catherine Buczek recorded the best 400-meter hurdles time in the Centennial Conference and classmate Jenna Kelly moved into the top three in the 400-meter dash to lead the Ursinus College women's track and field team at the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday.
Buczek now owns the top time in the Centennial Conference this season, a 1:05.72 that was more than two seconds faster than her previous season best. She placed fifth overall in the event.
Freshman Catherine Curran took 12th in the 400 hurdles, trimming just over half a second off her personal record.
Kelly cut down her collegiate best time even further, crossing the finish line in 1:00.60 to move up one spot and into third on the Centennial Conference performance list, only .05 seconds out of second.
Kelly also notched a clocking of 28.02 in her first 200-meter dash of the season, which ranks just outside the top 20 in the conference. Junior Katherine Damato crossed in 28.18 and registered a 15-3.25 in the long jump to move into the top 15 in the CC.
Sophomore Briana Campbell added more than two-and-a-half feet to her season high in the discus, posting a mark of 94-10.
The women's track and field team competes in the Widener Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
