PHILADELPHIA – The Ursinus College women's track and field team's 4x400-meter relay grouping posted its best time in five years on a huge stage Thursday evening, crossing the finish line in 4:03 to place fourth in the Centennial/MAC heat at the Penn Relays.
Senior Erin Farrell and juniors Catherine Buczek, Katherine Damato, and Jenna Kelly efficiently navigated the track at Franklin Field and recorded the Bears' top mark since 2012. That year, Brianna Kramer, Victoria Goodenough, Jessica Matusky, and Carina Doyle completed the relay in 4:00.73 to claim a bronze medal at the CC outdoor championship.
The Bears' relay unit and the rest of the team will now prepare for the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championship from May 5-7 at Johns Hopkins.
Split times – and an official final time – were not immediately available via the Penn Relays results link. This story will be updated when the final numbers become available.
