Women's XC Concludes Season at Regionals


NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's cross country team concluded the 2017 season by placing 32nd at the NCAA Mideast Regional at Big Spring High School.

The Bears finished three spots ahead of last year's effort at the event hosted by Dickinson.

Junior Riley Engel continued to be the Bears' frontrunner, crossing the line in 24:30.8 to place 107th of 351 runners.

Sophomore Alyson Manley placed 211th (26:26.5) as the second Ursinus runner to complete the 6k course, and junior Audrey Simpson (26:41.2) was close behind in 222nd.

Sophomore Ellie Stanley was just back of Simpson in 26:47.4 (227th), and freshman Bianca Joseph landed just a half-second behind Stanley at 26:47.9.

Junior Gabrielle Manto finished in 27:51.3 to round out the Bears' contingent of six.
