Matt Kade enters his fourth year as an assistant coach on the men’s and women’s track and field staff.
In his first three years with the Bears, Kade has guided several athletes to All-Centennial Conference accolades. That list includes Sam Pope, who won both the indoor and outdoor conference titles in the triple jump and was awarded CC Rookie of the Year for his efforts. On the women’s side, heptathlon national qualifier Krista Snyder broke both the indoor and outdoor long jump record with a mark of 17’11.5.”
Prior to Ursinus, Kade experienced great success as the head track and field coach at Daniel Boone High School, where he worked primarily with the sprinters, jumpers, and hurdlers. Under his tutelage, his athletes earned 15 county championships, five district championships, six state medals, and a national championship appearance.
Kade was a standout track & field and soccer athlete at Quakertown High School prior to attending Kutztown University, where he was a member of the men’s soccer team. Academically, he finished every semester on the Dean’s List and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also served as the treasurer of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Kade holds a USTFCCCA Technical Certification, USTF Level I Coaching Certification, and a specialist certification in the jumps from the USTFCCCA.
