ALLENTOWN, Pa. – For the first time since 2005, the Ursinus College wrestling team finished with a perfect record in dual meet competition by virtue of two wins Saturday at Muhlenberg.
The Bears (16-0, 8-0 Centennial) defeated Washington & Lee to start the day by a 41-3 score, while beating host Muhlenberg 59-0 in the second match of the day.
Against the Generals, Ursinus went up 12-0 via two forfeits at the opening weight classes, before Alex Kramer won his bout at 141 over Michael Rogers 8-0. After a forfeit at 149, junior Richard Jasinski defeated Alex Niemann via a 14-4 major decision.
At 165, Anthony Carlo defeated Mac Evarts by technical fall in 6:35.
Junior Daniel Manganaro defeated Zac Richey at 184 by a 8-3 score, before junior Christian Psomas defeated Bennett Lewis by a 11-0 major decision at 197.
Freshman Matan Peleg won his match at 285 by a 2-1 score over Grant Cokeley.
Against Muhlenberg, only two bouts were contested. Junior Christopher Donaldson defeated Jaryd Flang, 22-10 at 125 while Derek Arnold defeated Che Chengsupanimit at 149 by pin in 2:46.
Ursinus will host the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday, with the individual tournament starting at 10 a.m.
