The Ursinus Athletics Emerging Leaders Academy is designed to complement the academic and athletic experiences of sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes at Ursinus College. It is the mission of the program to develop leaders, provide mentorship opportunities, and teach them important core values that benefit both the individual, and the team. The goal of the ELA program is to offer robust and diverse educational and training opportunities to our student-athletes that build character, instill motivation, and foster critical thinking and collaboration. Each year, the program consists of three workshops about different topics that will help make our student-athletes better leaders and strong members of our campus community. ELA members are also required to participate in community service throughout the year.

Lastly, in addition to the workshops and community service, each ELA member is matched with an Ursinus staff mentor. All mentors are Ursinus staff and represent a wide range of the college including but not limited to; coaches, athletic staff, faculty/professors, vice presidents, and student affairs staff. This mentor/mentee partnership is intended to further develop the leadership skills of the ELA members, while also providing the opportunity to expand their professional network.

Student-athletes must be accepted into the program. Interested student-athletes must complete an application to be considered for acceptance.
