COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus College men's swimming team dove into action on Saturday for a conference showdown against Gettysburg College. The Bullets edged Ursinus by a score of 107-97.
Jonah Kasznay and Ryan Carkhuff were both double winners for the Bears and each were involved in the 400-yard freestyle relay which finished first with a time of 3:11.27. Kasznay finished first in the 200-yard IM (1:58.96) and 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:48.98. Carkhuff took home first in both the 50 (20.94) and 100-yard (46.77) freestyle events.
Samuel Taffet had an impressive afternoon for the Bears as well picking up an event victory in the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:01.39), while finishing third in both the 200-yard IM (2:04.06) and 100-yard Backstroke (56.94).
Stephen Lyons picked up two second place finishes just behind Carkhuff in both the 50 (21.78) and 100-yard (48.65) freestyle events. The quartet of Kasznay, Carkhuff, Lyons and Jan Perez-Bonilla finished off the meet strong picking up a relay win in the 400-yard relay with a time of 3:11.27.
The Bears will return to action on December 3rd, as they travel to Gettysburg for the Gettysburg Inviational.
