ERIE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's wrestling team went 2-2 in dual meets on Sunday and earned a seventh-place finish at the Northeast Regional Duals hosted by Gannon University.  
 
The Bears earned their first two program dual meet victories with wins over Western New England (30-5) and Alvernia (29-5). First-year Kalli Roskos had an outstanding day collecting three victories including a 10-8 decision over Gannon's Juliana Cubias who is ranked third in the Mideast Region at 123lbs.  Roskos opened with an 11-0 victory by superiority over NJCU's Somaia Elokda and ended with her third fall of the season defeating Western New England's Tori Orender at the 3:00 minute mark.
 
"I'm proud of how we competed today," Head Coach Joe Jamison said. "As a first-year program, it's incredibly important to compete against established programs and to get a feel for what that looks like. We wrestled incredibly tough versus #11 Gannon and #15 NJCU and it was exciting to have Jocelyn and Kalli be tested and pick up some big wins."
 
Ursinus was paired with two top-25 teams in pool B as they opened with No.15 New Jersey City University and No. 11 Gannon University. The Bears dropped their opening match to New Jersey City 23-15, as Roskos earned a victory while first-year Riley Frymoyer (155lbs) and sophomore Calista Kolmer (170lbs) each collected forfeits. In their second match Ursinus was defeated by Gannon University 37-6. First-years Jocelyn Lass and Roskos each recorded victories by decision, while Gannon earned five victories by fall.
 
The Bears bounced back in their next two matches defeating Western New England 30-5 and Alvernia 29-5 to finish in seventh place. Lass, sophomore Lauren Gherman, Riley Frymoyer, Cali Kolmer, and Elizabeth Grace Harris each recorded victories by forfeit against Western New England. The Bears received five forfeits against Alvernia while Lass earned a tech fall and Frymoyer recorded her first collegiate victory with a fall over Kathryn Berger.
 
Jamison added "I'm also really happy for Riley. She suffered a high ankle sprain just before our first competition and was off the mat for a few weeks. She's a leader and has done everything she can to get back as soon as possible. Picking up her first college win is something she'll never forget."
 
 
The Bears will return to action on Sunday, December 11^th as they host Elmira College from Helfferich Hall at 1 p.m.
