CHESTER, Pa. – Senior Melissa Leonard won each of her three events leading the Ursinus College women's swimming team to a 153.5-105.5 victory over Widener University on Saturday afternoon.
 

With the victory Ursinus improves to 5-1 on the season meanwhile the Pride fall 2-2 overall. The Bears opened with the best time in the 200-yard Medley Relay as the quartet of junior Katie Barlow, Leonard, first-year Melanie Hahn, and first-year Morgan Valeriano posted a time of 1:57.21, which is just two seconds shy of the team best this season.
 
 
Leonard won each of her three individual races, recorded the fastest times in the 100 Breast (1:13.39), 200 back (2:10.45), and 200-yard IM (2:15.66).
 
 
Sophomore Sara Bozzomo continued the momentum for the Bears earning a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:49.17. Bozzomo later added a first-place in the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall at 26.50. Ursinus won each of the next two races as Valeriano tallied the fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.03) while junior Molly Stevens won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.00. Stevens later added a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly posting a time of 1:01.91 , which ranks as the 16^th best time in the Centennial Conference this season.
 

During the next event, the 100-yard breaststroke, Ursinus tallied the top-two times as Leonard (1:13.39) and Barlow (1:13.57) recorded a first and second-place finish. First-year Sylvi Lynch collected her personal best time in the 200-yard butterfly (2:25.63) earning a second-place finish. Next, during the 100-yard freestyle, Hahn tied for first place with a time of 56.60 while Lynch took third place touching the wall at 1:00.61.

 
First-year Mia Tamburrino shined during the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.99) collecting a first-place finish and placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:28.92. The Bears closed out the meet with an event victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of Bozzomo, first-year Mimi Norris, Hahn, and Valeriano combined for a time of 3:46.79.
 
 
The Bears will return to action on Saturday, November 11^th as they host McDaniel College for a Centennial Conference meet starting at 1 p.m.
