COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's wrestling celebrated senior day with a dual-meet sweep over Alvernia University and Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears defeated Alvernia 25-20 and Cedar Crest 23-11 to improve to 6-6 on the season. Prior to the matches, Ursinus honored senior
Elizabeth Grace Harris for her hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Ursinus College wrestling program.

In their first dual, first-years
Jocelyn Lass,
Kalli Roskos, and sophomore
Laura Bradley each received forfeits to give Ursinus a 15-10 lead with four matches remaining. Alvernia regained the lead with back-to-back victories at 143 and 155lbs and controlled a 20-15 match lead. First-year

Elizabeth Grace Harris collected victories by injury default to give Ursinus the 25-20 victory.
Ursinus 23, Cedar Crest 11
Lass got the Bears on the board first with a 10-0 victory by superiority over Cedar Crest's Adrianna Dias at 116lbs. She earned the first takedown after a snap down, spin behind and converted back-to-back two-point tilts for a 6-0 advantage. She earned her second takedown via a single leg and collected the victory after two more points by putting Dias in a danger position.
With Ursinus leading 4-0, the Bears doubled their lead to eight as
Kalli Roskos collected a victory by technical superiority over Brooke Holley. Roskos earned the first takedown with a snap down and spun past the outstretched arms of Holley for a 2-0 lead. She locked in a leg lock and turned her opponent multiple times for the victory. Gherman reversed her opponent and recorded the fall via a half to extend the Bears match lead to 13-0. The Bears closed out the meet with two more victories via forfeit and injury default for the 23-10 match victory.
At 130lbs, sophomore
Lauren Gherman kept the momentum rolling for the Bears collecting a fall at the 2:20-mark of the first period over Cedar Crest's Olivia Horninger. Gherman recorded the first takedown after a rear leg-trip and extended her advantage to 4-0. Gherman tallied her second takedown via snap down, but a four-point move from Horniger cut her lead to two.
"The girls wrestled really well today," Director of Wrestling
Joe Jamison said. "There was a ton of energy on the mat, and everyone was looking to score points in every position. We are going to spend the next two weeks fine-tuning a few things and getting our bodies healthy for regionals."
Ursinus will return to action on Saturday, February 18
th as they prepare for the NCWWC Region 1 Championships held at Gannon University.
