COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Behind winning six of the nine bouts, the Ursinus College women's wrestling team defeated Delaware Valley University 27-20 on Thursday evening from the Floy Lewis Bakes Fieldhouse.
With the victory, Ursinus improves to 6-2 on the season in duals meet while Delaware Valley falls to 2-3 overall.

Joe Jamison said. "We've been dealing with some adversity in the last week or so and tonight everyone stepped up to get the job done. We have a quick turnaround and some big matches coming up on Sunday against Western New England and Sacred Heart. We're really looking forward to heading up to Connecticut for some tough competition."
The Aggies took an early 10-0 advantage through the opening two bouts after receiving a pinfall at 101lbs and a forfeit at 109lbs. In the 116lb match, sophomore
Jocelyn Lass gave the Bears momentum behind a pinfall to cut the match deficit in half. Lass was leading 6-2 in the second period before connecting on a headlock to record the pinfall at the 5:28-mark of the second period.
At 123lbs, sophomore
Kalli Roskos dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Delaware Valley's Bridgette Schoultz but earning a point in the final period made the match score 13-6, Aggies. The Bears bounced back in the middle weights as three consecutive victories via pinfall at 130lbs, 136lbs, and 143lbs gave Ursinus a 21-13 match lead with three matches remaining. Stacy Bloomfield fired in on a shot attempt for a near sided single leg before adjusting for a four-point takedown. Bloomfield's takedown sent the Aggie wrestler to her back before adjusting to grab the pinfall at the 1:34-mark of the opening period.

Paisley Fox followed up Bloomfield's performance with a 31-second pin at 136lbs to give Ursinus a 16-13 lead. Fox opened the match with a double-leg takedown within the opening seconds of the period before running an armbar to collect the pinfall. Cloe Charlesworth collected the fourth pin of the night for Ursinus with a fall at the 1:09-mark to give the Bears an eight-point advantage. Charlesworth tallied the opening takedown with a single-leg and after advancing her position, she recorded the pinfall moments later.
The Bears increased their match lead to double digits at 155lbs as first-year
Emma Matera earned a hard-fought 3-2 decision over Delaware Valley's Gabriella Reid to extend the match lead to 24-14. Classmate
Gianna Perez followed up with a 6-4 decision at 170lbs over Delaware Valley's Katie Martin to give Ursinus a 27-15 lead. The Aggies earned a victory by fall at 191lbs, but the Bears earned the 27-20 match victory.
