COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus men's tennis team was dealt a 7-2 setback to Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon in their Centennial Conference opener.
With the loss, the Bears fell to 8-2 overall and will start Centennial play 0-1. Meanwhile, the Bullets improved to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

Deniz Finkel dropped an 8-4 match to JP Damare and Michael Zayneh before seniors
Lars Jespersen and
Will Oberholtzer fell 8-6 to Alex Kagan and Adam Contract at the No. 1 spot. Seniors
Darby Rogers and
Ethan Yu were edged 7-6 (4-0) in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles by Tyler Blanz and Matt Porreca.
The Bullets locked up the match by winning four of the six singles matches on the afternoon. Snyder was dealt a 1-6, 6-3 to Blanz at the No. 4 spot and Yu was downed by Fellman 1-6, 1-6 at No. 2 singles. Rogers was bested by Contract 3-6, 7-6 at the No. 3 position but Jespersen got the Bears on the board with a thrilling 4-6, 6-1, (10-7) win over Kagan at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Andrei Bogdan dropped a 1-6, 3-6 decision to Ben O'Connor-Skloot at the No. 6 spot and Finkel closed the match on a high note by defeating Zayneh 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 5 spot.
The Bears return to action Tuesday, April 2nd as they will travel to face Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference action at 3:30 p.m.
