COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Former Ursinus Cross Country and Track & Field member Emelia Perry '15 recently competed in the 2024 Paralympic games held in Paris, France.
Perry represented Team USA in the Para Triathlon on Monday, September 2nd and finished fifth overall by completing the event in 1:14.03. Perry was second among United State athletes in the event with Kendall Gretsch earning the silver medal.
Perry has been a member of the U.S. Paratriathlon Resident Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado, since 2023. A runner before sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2017, Perry started competing in wheelchair racing and triathlon in 2022. As she continued to build her career, Perry won the 2022 Broad Street 10-Miler in 2022 with a time of 43:45. She also was earned first place honors at the Paratriathlon National Championship in July of 2022.
A four-year member of the Ursinus Track & Field and Cross Country teams, Perry won the gold medal in the steeplechase during the 2015 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She also raced in the Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships and NCAA Mideast Regional Championships during her time at Ursinus.
