LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus women's swimming team kicked off their 2025-26 season by competing at the Centennial Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears fell to the Diplomats (141-120), No. 16 Swarthmore College (201-59), and Dickinson College (168-92) and will open the season with an 0-3 record. Ursinus opened the meet by placing 10th in the 200-yard medley relay as the quartet of juniors

Sara Bozzomo collected a time of 1:55.78.
First-year
Caelan Ladd had an impressive collegiate debut for the Bears, earning three top-three finishes during the meet. Ladd opened by finishing first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:53.70), before placing second in the 500 free (5:18.88), and third in the 200-yard IM (2:15.06). Classmate
Kendell Goelz also shined during the meet by placing fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:21.13) and 200 butterfly (2:18.38). Junior
Sylvi Lynch added a sixth-place nod in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:23.77.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Bozzomo placed fourth for the Bears behind a time of 2:01.38 while sophomore
Haley Lenker finished 13th by touching the wall at 2:14.50. Bozzomo later added a seventh-place nod in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.92. Next, in the 100-yard backstroke, Valeriano took fifth (1:01.96) while sophomore
Maria Wehmeyer placed 12th with a time of 1:06.09. Valeriano also added a second place time in the 200-yard IM (2:14.52), while ranking sixth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.34).
Ursinus closed out the meet by finishing sixth in the 200-yard freestyle as the group of Bozzomo, first-year
Lindsay Willis, Hahn, and Wehmeyer combined for a time of 1:44.24.
The Bears return to action on Friday, October 31st as they travel to Bryn Mawr College for a dual meet starting at 6 p.m.
