COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus Bears women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 setback to No. 23 Swarthmore on Saturday morning in Centennial Conference play.

Prior to the contest the Bears honored its lone senior on the team,
Allie Armour, as a part of senior day ceremonies.

Swarthmore won all three of the doubles points to take get the first point of the match. Armour and Vassalluzzo dropped a 6-0 match at No. 1 doubles to Nathalie Williams and Ruthie Njagi before sophomore
Morgan Coupe and first-year
Katie Yu suffered a 6-0 setback to Ella Strickler and Riya Rao at the No. 2 spot. Sophomores
Caroline Daly and
Julia Nitz dropped a 6-3 match at No. 3 doubles to Alice Coxe and Marisa Geib.

In singles, Armour lost 0-6, 2-6 to Williams at the No. 1 spot while Daly dropped a 0-6, 1-6 No. 2 match to Melnikov. Vassalluzzo was bested by Coxe 1-6, 1-6 at the No. 4 position and Yu fell 2-6, 0-6 to Rao at No. 3 singles. Coupe won No. 6 singles by default over Njagi and junior
Kate Rubinkam lost 8-1 to Geib at No. 5 singles.
