LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second time this season, Ursinus men's wrestling junior
Braden Kmak has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday morning.
Kmak led the Bears at the Manganaro Duals this weekend, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record behind three pins and a technical fall. He opened with a first-period fall against Roger Williams' Jonathan Fabrizio before pinning Adam St. Cyr of Southern Maine. Kmak then collected a 19-3 technical fall over Alvernia's Ian Vitalo and closed out the tournament with a fall at the 1:25 mark against Rhode Island College's Constantine Isaac to lead Ursinus to a 3-1 meet record.
The Hazlet, New Jersey, native has posted a 24-5 record this season and is currently ranked fourth in Region III by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. His 16 falls are tied for the team lead. This marks the second time this season Kmak has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week. It is the fourth honor for Ursinus this season, with classmates
Andrew Schaen and
Mohamed Abdelatty previously earning the award.
The Bears return to action Saturday, January 17th, when they host the Will Abele Invitational beginning at 10 a.m.
