COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Tennis team earned a dominant 6-1 win over Eastern in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Ace Bailey Tennis Courts.
The Bears cruised to the doubles point by winning all three matches by 6-0 margins. Senior
Kate Rubinkam and junior
Morgan Coupe swept Mary Brusstar and Kayleigh Achenbach at No. 2 doubles and sophomore
Katie Yu and first-year
Sara Steelesmith bested Lily Aldrich and Gabby Sutton at the No. 3 spot. Senior
Bella Vassalluzzo and junior
Caroline Daly downed Anisah Smith and Sarah Mowe at No. 1 doubles.
In singles, Rubinkam defeated McHugh 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Daly bested Smith 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Coupe swept past Brusstar 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Steelesmith outlasted Achenbach 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. Vassalluzzo defeated Mower 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles spot and Eastern earned their lone point with a forfeit at No. 6 singles.
The Bears are right back to action tomorrow, April 9th as they will travel to face West Chester at 2:00 p.m.
