BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Cross Country team opened its 2026 season at the Bryn Mawr Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Bears finished second as a team in the six-team field with 45 points that was just behind Swarthmore at 26 points.
First-year
Chase Kalesh impressed in his collegiate debut by finishing second overall and was the top Division III runner in the 5K race with his time of 17:13.4. Sophomore
Elias Knoll also earned a top-10 finish as he finished with a time of 17:37.4.
Senior
Sean Geherty crossed the line at 17:51.8 and was third among Bears runners and in 14th while his classmate
Troy Hedrick was right behind in 15
th after finishing with a time of 18:00.0. Sophomore
Ryan Ickes placed 16
th with a time of 18:01.0
Sophomore Evan O'Conner recorded a 20th place finish with a time of 18:37.6 and first-year
Fernando Medina placed 23
rd on his time of 18:46.6.
Junior
Aidan Furtek placed 26
th on a time of 19:10.7, sophomore
Nick Sirdashney was next at 19:18.3 in 28
th, junior Johnathan Sabo posted a time of 20:09.2, and junior
Conor Flaherty rounded out the Bears with his time of 21:22.5.
Ursinus returns to action in two weeks on Friday, September 18th as they will compete in the Haverford Main Line Invitational at 4:45 p.m.
