Stephen Lyons ’24 begins his 1st season as an assistant coach with the Bears. Originally from Palmyra, PA, Stephen made a name for himself as a sprint specialist at Palmyra High School, where he was a four-year District 3 medalist in the 50-yard freestyle and a three-time PIAA state qualifier.
He earned All-State honors twice in the 50 free and helped lead his team to three consecutive division championships. Stephen still holds school records in the 50 freestyle, 200 medley relay, and 200 freestyle relay.Stephen continued his swimming career at Ursinus, where he was a four-year member of the men’s swim team and served as team captain during his senior season.
He finished his collegiate career ranked second all-time in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, and third all-time in the 100-yard butterfly. Stephen was also a key contributor to the school record-holding 200 and 400 medley relays, as well as the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. His strong senior campaign earned him All-Centennial Conference honors.
Following graduation, Stephen transitioned into the golf industry and currently works for the United States Golf Association (USGA), continuing his passion for sports and competition in a new arena.
