Carl Blickle enters his 17th year of collegiate coaching this season. He is entering his 11th year as the head coach of the Ursinus Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Programs.

Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country
In 2024, the Men’s Track & Field program won the Outdoor Centennial Conference Champions (3rd consecutive). A program record of 12 student-athletes took home 19 All-Region honors during the outdoor season. Individually, several UC athletes won major Centennial Conference awards. Aiden Tobin was honored as Track Athlete of the Year and Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Championship Meet for the indoor season. Jayden McKeen was named Rookie of the Year for the outdoor season. The Bears’ Coaching Staff was recognized as Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year and Blickle was named Regional Coach of the Year for the outdoor season. The Bears concluded the year at the NCAA Outdoor Championship with two All American honors (4x400m Relay + Javelin).
Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country
In 2024, the Bears finished third at the Outdoor Conference Championship, set seven school records, placed nine on the All-Centennial Team, and received four All American honors. Rainah Dunham won the NCAA National Championship in the Long Jump (5.98m) and finished runner-up in the triple jump (12.75m).
Academically, the Bears continue to perform at a high level. During the 2023-2024 season, Both the XC & T&F Programs earned All Academic Team recognition by the USTFCCCA. This was the 9th consecutive year both programs received the honor. Five student-athletes were recognized as individual All-Academic Athletes. An honor named to the top 50 individuals and top 35 relays in the nation who have a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA. The quarter of Holly Chambers, Meghan Carroll, Brooke Adams, and Rachel Conhoff took home the honor in the DMR by winning the conference title in a record setting time of 12:21.05. Brooke Adams was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor season.
Prior to Ursinus, Blickle spent four years at Roanoke College as an assistant coach and health/human performance professor. In his four years with Roanoke, Blickle was awarded the women’s South/Southeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year three times by USTFCCCA. He led the Maroons to five Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women’s track and field team championships, including three straight outdoor titles from 2012 to 2014. Individually, his athletes achieved four NCAA All-American accolades, three ODAC Athletes of the Year awards, 21 NCAA National Qualifiers, and 31 ODAC individual champions.
Prior to arriving at Roanoke, Blickle spent two season at his alma mater, Salisbury University, where the Sea Gulls finished runner-up at the 2010 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships and was named the Scholar Team of the Year by USTFCCCA.
A 2008 graduate of Salisbury, Blickle was a five-time individual all-conference team member in track & field and cross country, helping the Sea Gulls capture six Capital Athletic Conference crowns. Blickle holds a master’s degree in Applied Health Physiology, has both a USA Track & Field Level 1 and Level 2 certification along with two specialist certifications from the USTFCCCA.
Outside of his duties at Ursinus College, Blickle has severed on several committees including the AARTFC Regional Rep (2024 – present), Executive Board of the USTFCCCA (T&F: 2018-2019/XC: 2022-2024), Centennial Conference XC Chair (2019-2023), Centennial Conference T&F Chair (2017-2019), and the Leadership Team for the New Balance Garden State Track Club (2015-2022). Blickle has successfully guided post-collegiate athletes to national and world ranked times, including 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier Carmen Graves to a 4:31 Mile and 9:47 3k Steeplechase.
Blickle lives in Phoenixville with his wife, Ally and daughter, Camryn.
