Ursinus College

Gerry Shatzer is in his 16th year as an assistant track and field coach for the men’s and women’s track and field programs. He works directly with developing the javelin throwers.
 

Over the past 15 years, Shatzer’s athletes have placed an impressive 40 times in the top three at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championship. Izzy Deal concluded her career with the Bears in 2023 as a 3 time All-American in the Javelin. She achieved multiple accolades during her time at UC including a record setting toss of 47.24m (155’0”). At the 2021 Outdoor Championship, Evan Giannetti (59.23m/194’4”) took home gold in the Javelin competition and qualified for the NCAA National Championship.
 

An avid competitor in his own right, Shatzer competes in the javelin as a member of Philadelphia Masters Track and Field. A graduate of West Chester University, Shatzer is the President of Gerry Shatzer Sports Sales and Lance Sports.
