Brooke Hylek

Brooke Hylek enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Ursinus Gymnastics team.

Hylek made an instant impact since joining Kim Valenti's staff as she has helped coach five student-athletes to earn bids in the last two NCGA Championship meets. Three of the athletes earned individual bids on the vault and one of those athletes, Erin Roe, set the Bears vault record back at Temple in February of 2024 in her first year on the team. Hylek's work on the vault helped the Bears consistently score high as a team on the event. She has also been integral in helping program partner with Team IMPACT, a non-profit matches children facing serious illness and disability with matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved.college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved.

Hylek came to Ursinus after spending four years at Eastern Michigan. She was a student-athlete on the Eagles gymnastics team for two years before transitioning to the role of Student Coach for her final two seasons. Since graduation in May, Hylek spent the last five months as the Program Director at the Michigan Academy of Gymnastics in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Hylek served as the Program Director at the Michigan Academy of Gymnastics where she oversaw teaching skills for the upcoming levels of gymnastics while making lesson and conditioning plans for gymnasts. Hylek had her first coaching opportunity for her club gymnastics team, Twistars USA, in Lansing, Michigan. She coached recreational groups along with team groups and helped coach the summer camps at the program's home gym from 2016 to 2018.

Hylek also served as a marketing intern within the Eastern Michigan Athletic Department during her final semester on campus, assisting with all elements of gameday production which included running video board operations. She earned her bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan in sports management with a minor in communication. She made the University's Dean List five times during her undergraduate studies.
