Darius Madison enters his first season on the Ursinus College men’s soccer coaching staff, bringing extensive experience as a collegiate and professional player as well as a growing background in collegiate coaching.
A Philadelphia native and La Salle College High School graduate, Madison enjoyed a standout prep career, scoring 20 goals as a senior and helping lead the Explorers to a Philadelphia Catholic League championship. He earned All-State and First Team All-Catholic honors and was selected to participate in the High School All-American Game.
Madison continued his playing career at the University of Virginia, where he was part of a nationally prominent program and helped the Cavaliers capture the 2014 NCAA Division I National Championship. He earned All-ACC recognition and was named to the NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team in consecutive seasons. Madison later continued his collegiate career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Following college, Madison competed professionally, gaining experience with Toronto Fc, Kitsap Pumas and Rochester Rhinos, while also playing in the Premier Development League and overseas in Australia.
Madison began his collegiate coaching career in 2022 as a volunteer assistant at Thomas Jefferson University. He continued his coaching development with Saint Joseph’s University in 2024 before joining the Ursinus coaching staff.
A former NCAA champion and accomplished player with deep ties to the Philadelphia soccer community, Madison brings a wealth of experience and a player-centered approach to the Bears. He will assist with all aspects of the program, including player development, recruiting and day-to-day team operations.
