Jake Stankunas enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Ursinus Women's Soccer team in the Fall of 2025
StankunasĀ brings over two decades of coaching experience to the Ursinus College Womenās Soccer program, adding a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the staff. His coaching background spans multiple levels, from youth academies to elite club programs and high school varsity teams.

During his ten-year tenure as a high school varsity staff coach, Jake helped lead his teams to 10 consecutive league championships, demonstrating his ability to develop winning teams and cultivate a culture of excellence. He has also served as a staff coach for FC Delcoās (formerly Continental FC) Player Development Program (PDP) and pre-ECNL, working with some of the regionās top youth female talent. Additionally, he has provided specialized Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) training for youth soccer players at Athleteās Arbor in Collegeville and has coached travel teams for various area clubs. Under his training and coaching, numerous of his athletes have advanced to the collegiate level, competing across all divisions of college soccer.

Beyond the field, Jake has been a dedicated educator for over 26 years in the Lower Merion School District, where he has served in multiple roles, including teacher, dean of students, and athletic director.

His academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Health with a teaching certificate from East Stroudsburg University and a masterās degree in education, with focus areas of mathematics and elementary education from Arcadia University.

As a player, Jake earned All-State (PA) honors in high school(92ā) before continuing his soccer career at East Stroudsburg University (ā92 & ā93).Ā Jake is also an all-state cross country and track & field athlete.Ā He is a 2-time district champion in the 1 mile and top 10 finisher state (PA) cross country competitor.Ā

Stankunas resides in Trappe Borough with his wife (Michele) and two daughters (Emma & Isabella). The beautiful game has played an important role in his familyās journey and their lives both on and off the field.
