Leah Albert joined the Ursinus College basketball staff as a volunteer assistant at the start 2024-25 season.
The Bears went 16-10 in 2024-25 and clinched a third-place regular season finish in the Centennial Conference.Â
Prior to Ursinus, Albert served as an assistant coach at Division 2 Jefferson University from 2020-22 and has been a head high school coach at Penncrest High School, Upper Merion High School, Bayard Rustin High School, as well as Episcopal Academy. She also has coached with the Comets AAU program in suburban Philadelphia.
An outstanding Division II player at the former University of the Sciences, Albert (Shumoski in her playing days from 2002-2006) was a two-time CACC Player of the Year, She was named to the All-CACC First Team three times. In addition, she earned All-Region honors in 2005 and 2006. Albert was named the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for 2005-06. She was inducted into the USciences Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.
