Ursinus College

Mary Lauren Franz enters her first season on the Ursinus College field hockey coaching staff, following an outstanding four-year playing career as a Bear. A standout offensive player, Franz was one of the most accomplished players in the program during her career and brings valuable experience and knowledge to the coaching staff.

 

Franz earned two All-Centennial Conference First Team selections (2023, 2024) and was named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2024. She also earned All-Region Second Team honors in 2023 before being selected to the All-Region First Team and NFHCA Division III All-American Second Team in 2024. Her senior season was capped off with a selection to the NFHCA Division III Senior Team. Off the field, Franz was recognized for her excellence as a student-athlete, earning the Ronald C. Kichline Prize.

 

Now transitioning from player to coach, Franz brings firsthand experience competing at a high level in the Centennial Conference, along with a passion for player development and the Ursinus field hockey program. At Ursinus she was a health and society Major with management minor. Off the field she works as a full time as a pediatric care coordinator. Her experience as a Bear gives her a unique perspective that she can now share with the next generation of Ursinus student-athletes.
