Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Nationally-ranked Muhlenberg remained atop the
Centennial Conference standings as the 12th-ranked Mules
(12-2, 9-1 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (7-8, 5-6 Centennial) 71-47
on Wednesday night at Memorial Hall in women's basketball play.
Muhlenberg sophomore guard Alexandra Chili had 14 points and ten
assists, while junior forward Shelia Cook had 12 points for the
Mules.
Despite the loss, Ursinus sophomore forward Lindsay
Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) had a game and
career-high 18 points on 9-for-15 shooting. She also grabbed a
game-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Alli Rosati
(Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) had 12 points for the
Bears.
As has been the case in previous games, the Bears took an early
7-1 lead on the Mules 17:08 in as Rosati connected on a
three-pointer. Muhlenberg climbed back into it, cutting the deficit
to 10-7, before a jumper by Teuber gave Ursinus a 12-7 lead with
15:30 left.
The Mules would then outscore Ursinus 14-2 over the next 4:44,
mounting a 21-14 lead with 10:46 left on a jumper by senior forward
Maiza Mock.
Ursinus would get as close as 28-23 in the first half as
sophomore guard Jen Sroba (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock
North) hit a jumper with 4:31 left. Muhlenberg would hold
Ursinus without a field goal past that point, taking a 33-25 lead
into the locker room.
In the second half, Ursinus would outscore Muhlenberg 12-4 over
the first 4:14 of the second stanza to tie the score at 37-all on a
jumper by freshman forward Amber Yacenda (Downingtown,
Pa./Downingtown East).
Ursinus would tie the score one last time at 39-all on a layup
by Teuber with 15:07 left, before Muhlenberg went on a 9-2 run over
the next 1:52 and never looked back.
Muhlenberg had a 45-28 advantage in rebounds.
