Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Ursinus College junior forward Alyssa
Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored all four of her goals in
the second half as the fourth-ranked Bears (11-1, 7-0 Centennial)
blanked Washington College (5-7, 3-2 Centennial) Wednesday
night.
Thren's four goals puts her two away from tying the mark
for most career goals by a player in the Centennial Conference,
currently held by Jennie Moore. Thren is now at 70 career
goals.
Thren scored two goals in the span of 23 seconds in the second
stanza. Her first goal came at 43:31, followed by her second goal
at 43:54. Thren also scored at 48:36 and 56:34 in the game.
The first goal for Ursinus came 20 seconds into the game as
forward Jennifer Bayzick (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) scored
unassisted. Bayzick later assisted on Thren's final goal of
the game.
The other Ursinus goal came from senior midfielder Michelle
Wimmer (Palm, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) at 39:43 on a penalty
stroke.
Ursinus, who owned a 19-10 advantage in shots, got seven saves
from senior goalkeeper LauraLee Lightwood-Mater (Bethlehem,
Pa./George School).
