Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus senior midfielder Megan Yoder
(Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) and senior forward Jennifer Bayzick (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazelton Area) each had two goals, while
Bayzick added in two assists as fifth-ranked Ursinus (8-1, 5-0
Centennial) defeated McDaniel (2-6, 1-2 Centennial) 6-2 Saturday
afternoon at Scott S. Bair Stadium.
Ursinus had a 27-4 advantage in shots in winning its second game
in as many days.
Bayzick assisted on the first goal at 12:18 which was scored by
senior midfielder Bridget Resetco (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown
West) off of a penalty corner, before Bayzick scored her first goal
of the game at 30:27 on a pass from senior midfielder Michelle Wimmer (Palm, Pa./Upper Perkiomen).
In the second half, McDaniel cut the score to 2-1 as Sarah
Meszler scored on a Paige Messersmith assist at 36:12. Yoder scored
her first goal at 37:53 on a penalty corner to give Ursinus a 3-1
lead. McDaniel answered back at 41:47 as Meszler scored her second
goal on another assist by Messersmith.
Bayzick's second goal game at 42:20 on an assist by Yoder
for a 4-2 lead, followed by a goal from Wimmer on a Bayzick assist
at 61:12 for a 5-2 lead. Yoder scored her final goal at 63:28 on a
shot from the left post.
Senior goalkeeper LauraLee Lightwood-Mater (Bethlehem,
Pa./George School) had two saves in the win.
