Field Hockey punches ticket to CC Final

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior forward Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored a goal and added an assist as the 12th-ranked Bears (15-3) defeated Johns Hopkins (10-8) 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2011 Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Franklin & Marshall. 

The Bears will take on host F&M Sunday at 1 for the championship.

Thren broke open a 0-0 deadlock with a goal at 55:22 on a shot from the right, then assisted on a goal from senior forward Corinne Freeman (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vienney) at 57:59 for the 2-0 advantage.

Senior goalkeeper Jill Lukens (Furlong, Pa./C.B. East) had six saves in the win.
