Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall (7-0, 3-0 Centennial) took a 2-0 lead in the first half and never looked back as the 12th-ranked Diplomats defeated second-ranked Ursinus (6-1, 3-1 Centennial) 5-1 Saturday afternoon in field hockey play.
Sophomore midfielder Jenna Stover (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) scored the only Bears goal off of a Diplomat player from a penalty corner at 54:04. Franklin & Marshall outshot Ursinus 21-17 keeping seniorgoal keeper Jill Lukens (Furlong, Pa./ C.B. East) busy as she recorded five saves.
Chelsey Talhelm had three goals for the Diplomats, who handed Ursinus its only other loss in conference play on October 6, 2007.
Ursinus hosts TCNJ on Tuesday.
