Box Score PHILADELPHIA – It only took one goal on Saturday afternoon for the Ursinus College women's soccer to run their record to 2-0 on the 2013 season in a 1-0 win over PSU-Abington at Germantown Academy.
The lone score came in the 58th minute as freshman forward Jacqueline Smiler (West Chester, Pa. / West Chester Bayard Rustin) scored her first collegiate goal on an assist by junior forward Valerie Bedrock (Waldwick, N.J./Ramsey). The goal came after Bedrock sent a free kick in from midfield, which bounced to Smiler six yards out from the goal.
The Bears held PSU-Abington without a goal, and a shot the entire game holding a 26-0 edge in shots on the afternoon.
Ursinus hosts Moravian on Wednesday.
