Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's soccer team snapped a three-match losing streak on Saturday by netting a 3-0 home win over Rosemont at Patterson Field.
The Bears (2-4) pounded out 33 shots on the day, scoring all three goals in a 20-minute span of the second half.
After that scoreless first half, Ursinus got on the board in the 65th minute when freshman midfielder Aaron Nelson (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood Area) scored on an assist by freshman forward Ryan Molyneaux (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) on a cross that landed at the right side of the goal.
In the 71st minute, Ursinus went up 2-0 as Rosemont headed the ball into its own goal.
In the 84th minute, sophomore forward Ryan Butler (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) scored on a one-touch pass from freshman midfielder Matt Cioeta (Aston, Pa/Sun Valley).
That three-goal outburst was more than enough for junior goalkeeper Ryan Murphy (Sewell, N.J./Paul VI) who made eight saves on the day.
Ursinus heads to Immaculata on Tuesday.
