Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa – Lead by junior forward Ryan Butler, the Ursinus men's soccer team topped McDaniel College 3-2, keeping their undefeated October alive, Saturday night at Patterson field on senior day.
Bears improve to 6-6-3 and 3-3-1 in the Centennial, while McDaniel drops to 7-7-1 and 1-5-1 in conference.
For their final home game, Ursinus honored seniors Ryan Murphy and Chase Crawford playing in their final home match of the season.
All Centennial selection-Butler led the attack with a hat trick the second of his career.
Butler opened the game in the 7th minute taking a deflection off the defense and beating the keeper for his first goal.
In the 32nd minute Butler took advantage of a free kick just outside the box and beat the keeper low to the right post, to take a 2-0 lead going into the half.
The Green Terror rebounded in the second half with a goal coming off a corner tapped in the far post by senior forward Sean Foley.
In the 67th minute Butler put the game out of reach with a goal to the far left post assisted by Wyatt Powell.
Senior goal keeper Ryan Murphy made his final appearance at home in the final fourteen minutes but gave up a goal with only ten seconds left in regulation.
The Bears will travel to Haverford chasing their first birth in the Centennial Tournament, Wednesday night.
