Men's Basketball tripped up by Johns Hopkins, 67-50

BALTIMORE, Md. - Johns Hopkins got 14 points from senior forward George Bugarinovice and eight points from junior guard Gene Williams as the Blue Jays (13-2, 7-1 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (5-10, 2-6 Centennial) 67-50 on Saturday afternoon in men's basketball action.

Johns Hopkins shot 45.6 percent from the field (26-for-57) in the win and held Ursinus to just 31.1 percent shooting on the afternoon.

Ursinus was led by 12 points from sophomore forward Steve Leonard, and eight points from junior guard Malik Draper.

Ursinus kept it close in the first half, taking a one-point lead at 9-8 with 11:28 left in the first half.

Trailing by 18 at intermission, Ursinus saw Johns Hopkins go up by as much as 30 in the second half before Ursinus made a late run to get within 15 at 60-45 on a jumper by sophomore guard Matt Knowles. That capped a 15-0 run.

Ursinus got seven rebounds from freshman forward Joseph LoStracco in the loss. The Bears go to Muhlenberg on Wednesday.
