ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team earned a 91-77 win on the road over Rosemont on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
With the win, the Bears completed a successful opening weekend by improving to 2-0 overall. Meanwhile, the Ravens of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) fell to 0-2.

Ryan Hughes posted his second-straight game with 20 points to lead the Bears behind going 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Hughes also tallied four steals, three assists, and one steal as well. Junior
Trevor Wall added 17 points on an efficient 7-of-11 from the field while recording seven assists and five blocks. Freshman
Nick Nocito scored 10 points off the bench behind going a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line and
Jaiden Jakubowski narrowly missed a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
Rosemont took an early 5-2 lead at the 18:29-mark of the first half before the Bears reeled off nine-straight points to go up 11-5 with 16:09 left in the first half. The Ravens used a 7-1 run to cut the Bears lead down to 13-12, but the Bears responded with an 18-2 run over the span of 6:38 to take their largest lead of the half at 31-14 with 8:08 left in the first half. Ursinus held Rosemont without a field goal for nearly a full five minutes and did not allow them to get within more than nine points in the remainder of the first half. Jakubowski put the Bears up 48-36 at the half after capping off a strong half with a layup at the 18-second mark.
The Ravens drew within eight points of the Bears in the opening two minutes of the second half until Ursinus responded with seven-straight points to go up 59-44 at the 15:41-mark. Hughes powered the Ursinus by scoring five points during the run and put the Bears up 14 at 62-48 off a three-pointer with 13:41 left in the second half. The Bears did not let their lead fall into single digits during the entire portion of the second half and built their lead up by as many as 22 points at the 7:32-mark.
Ursinus shot 51.6 percent (32-of-62) from the field after going over 50 percent in both halves. The Bears went 8-of-18 (44.4%) from three-point range and 19-of-29 (65.5%) from the free throw line. The Bears held a 39-28 advantage in rebounds and held a 16-10 advantage in second chance points. Meanwhile, the Ravens went 24-of-62 (38.7%) from the field and just 4-of-16 (25%) from beyond the arc. Rosemont also went 25-of-33 (75.8%) from the free throw line.
Mike Herrin scored a game-high 20 points for the Ravens behidn going 11-of-12 from the free throw line and Zaire Mitchell added 18 points and six rebounds.
The Bears will return to action on Tuesday, November 15th as they will host TCNJ for their home opener at 7:00 p.m.
