COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus men's tennis team opened their 2022-23 fall portion of their season by earning a dominant 9-0 win over Immaculata in non-conference action at the Ace Bailey Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
This was the Bears played their first game back on the Bailey Courts since fall 2021 after the courts were renovated this past spring season.
Ursinus jumped on the Mighty Macs right from the start as they swept the doubles matches to take the initial 3-0 lead. The No. 3doubles team of freshman

Hunter Murray defeated Sean Chalmers and Nicholas John 8-0 before junior
Ethan Yu and senior
Noah Mandel followed with an 8-0 triumph of their own over Nicolas Meehan and Nicholas Fleming at the No. 2 spot. Juniors
Will Oberholtzer and
Darby Rogers completed the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win over Jason and Troy Watts at No. 1 doubles.
In his collegiate debut, Bogdan started off the Bears singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Brown at the number five spot while Rogers locked up the match by winning 6-1, 6-0 over Fleming at number three singles. Mandel registered a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Meehan at number three singles and Yu took down Troy Watts 6-1, 6-2 at the number two spot. Oberholtzer earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jason Watts at the number one spot and Murray closed the match by sweeping Matt Sabat 6-0, 6-0.
Four Bears will head down to Mary Washington this weekend to compete in the ITA Southeast Regionals starting on Friday morning.
