ABINGTON, PA. – The Ursinus College men's soccer team battled throughout Saturday afternoon, but a goal in the 87

Early into the second half, the Nittany Lions were awarded a penalty kick after a foul was issued to Schoenberg. Michael Thomas stepped up for the Nittany Lions, but his shot was saved to keep the Bears ahead. The Bears followed with back-to-back corner kicks in the 50

th minute,
Joshua Coster put a low shot on net, but his attempt was saved by Matt Sheldon. Penn State Abington tied the game at one a piece just seconds later as Eijo Agolli found Tony Colon for his first goal of the season.
"We had several moments we didn't capitalize on, and we can't expect to defend large parts of any game and expect to win the game," Head Coach
Daniel Clitnovici said. "Today we got better, our character and resilience were tested and although we didn't play our best, we found a way to stay in the game. The boys showed tremendous fight and I know they are disappointed they didn't get the road win, but these are the best lessons. Learning from moments that challenge us."
Penn State Abington held a 14-9 advantage in shots and a slight 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Schoenberg recorded five saves a season-high, meanwhile for the Nittany Lions Matt Sheldon finished with three saves.
The Bears will return to action on Tuesday, September 6
th as they return to Patterson Field for their 2022 home opener against Albright. Game time is set for 7pm.
