Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team wrapped up the month of January by earning a 70-61 win over Dickinson at Helfferich Hall on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
With the win, the Bears improved to 13-6 overall and 8-4 in Centennial Conference action behind their third-straight win. Meanwhile, the Red Devils dropped to 4-15 overall and 2-10 in conference play. It was the first season sweep of Dickinson for Ursinus since the 2009-10 season.

Ryan Hughes paced the Bears with a game-high 20 points with 13 of them coming in the second half. The leading scorer in the Centennial also added five rebounds, five assists, and four steals in the win. Junior
Trevor Wall kept his strong stretch of play going with 16 points, four rebounds, and three steals while sophomore
Cole Grubbs tallied 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field. Grubbs posted seven rebounds and two blocks while freshman
Mohamed Toure recorded a key 13 points off the bench behind going 5-of-7 from the field.
Four early Bear turnovers allowed the Red Devils to gain an early 6-0 advantage at the 16:35-mark. Wall got the Bears on the board with a layup at the 16:12 mark which started a 9-3 run that knotted the game at nine with 14:35 left in the first half. Sophomore
Beau Everett gave the Bears their first lead of the game at 13-12 after quickly cashing in on a Dickinson turnover and back-to-back layups from Wall put Ursinus up 19-15 with 9:05 left in the first half. The Red Devils continued to hang around and used a 7-3 spurt to tie the game up at 22 with 7:14 left in the first half, but the Bears countered with seven-straight points to go up 29-22. Ursinus maintained at least a five-point lead for the remainder of the first half and went into the locker rooms up 34-29 after the Red Devils scored at the buzzer.
Ursinus blitzed the Red Devils to open the second half as they went on a 16-3 run in the first 6:14 to take their largest lead of the game at 50-32. Dickinson went 5:48 without a field goal during that stretch while the Bears went 6-of-11 from the field. However, the scrappy Red Devils fought their way back into the contest as they used a 16-4 run to make it a 54-48 game with 7:22 left in the second half. Ursinus fended off the rally with an 8-3 burst and went up 62-51 at the 3:29-mark of the second half. Dickinson had one last scare for the Bears as they used a 10-3 run to make it a four-point game at 65-61 with 1:33 left in regulation. Fortunately for Ursinus, Hughes countered with a layup to make it a two possession game and strong defense did not allow the Red Devils to score a single point in the final minute.
The Bears went 27-of-51 (52.9%) from the field and just 5-of-18 (27.8%) from three-point range. Ursinus shot 68.8% (11-of-16) from the free throw line and held a slight 33-32 edge in rebounds. Meanwhile, the Red Devils shot 38.6 percent (22-of-57) from the field and went 8-of-24 (33.3%) from three-point range. Dickinson went 9-of-15 (60%) from the free throw line and got 21 points from its bench.
Martin Mann scored a team-high 18 points behind going 7-of-12 from the field with 13 of those points coming in the second half. Brandon Wiercinski added 11 points off the bench behind hitting a trio of three-pointers while Andrew Gostovich grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, February 1st as they will travel to face Haverford at 6:00 p.m.
