LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's basketball team was defeated by Franklin & Marshall on the road 69-59 on the road in their Centennial Conference opener on Tuesday night.

Trevor Wall was the lone Bears scorer in double-figures with a game-high 25 points and posted four rebounds, two assists, along with two steals.
The Diplomats scored the first four points of the game before Ursinus responded with a 9-2 run to take a 9-6 advantage at the 15:35-mark of the first half. However, Franklin & Marshall responded with a 17-3 run over the span of 6:48 to take a 23-12 lead. The Bears were held without a point during 6:07 of that stretch. Ursinus used an 8-2 burst to get within five points at 25-20 but could get no further the rest of the first half. Wall hit a jumper with six seconds left that made it a 38-31 game that gave the Bears some momentum headed into the half.
F&M built a lead by as many as 14 at 48-34 in the opening portion of the second half until the Bears scored 12-straight points to cut the advantage down to 48-46 with 9:31 left in regulation. However, Ursinus did not score for a stretch of 4:12 which allowed the Diplomats lead back out to nine points at 55-46. The Bears got within six points twice on two separate occasions but could not draw closer the rest of the way. Wall scored the final 13 points for the Bears.
The Bears shot 36.5 percent from the field (23-of-63) from the field, just 20 percent (4-of-20) from three-point range, and 9-of-13 (69.2%) from the free throw line. Franklin & Marshall shot 41.4% (24-of-58) from the field and just 29.4% (5-of-17) from deep. The Diplomats went 18-of-30 (60%) from the free throw line and held a 44-39 edge in rebounds.
Ursinus returns to action on Tuesday, November 28th as they will host Haverford at 8:00 p.m.
