MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team was unable to overcome a first half deficit as they were defeated by Ohio Northern 83-51 in the Cruzin Classic at Barry University on Wednesday afternoon.

Trevor Wall led the Bears with a team-high 19 points behind going 8-of-15 from the field. First-year
Luke Nieman added 10 points off the bench behind going 3-of-6 from the field.
The Bears battled back and forth with the Polar Bears early in the contest and took their first lead of the contest at 10-9 with 13:21 left in the first half. However, Ohio Northern stormed ahead with a 21-3 run over the span of 5:14 to take a 30-13 advantage. Ursinus was held without a point for 6:41 before a three-pointer from Nieman at the 7:40-mark ended the stretch. The Bears were only able to get within 14 points of the Polar Bears in the first half and Ohio Northern stretched its lead to 42-23 at the half. The Polar Bears continued their success into the second half as they opened with a 12-2 run to go up 54-25. Ursinus was unable to cut the margin below 20 points during the rest of the contest despite Wall scoring 17 of his 19 points in the second half.
The Bears shot 45.2 percent (19-of-42) from the field while going 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from three-point range. The Polar Bears shot 53.6 percent (30-of-56) from the field and 35 percent (7-of-20) from three-point range. Ohio Northern went 16-of-23 (69.6%) from the free throw line and scored 30 points off 22 Ursinus turnovers.
Ursinus returns to action tomorrow, December 21st as they will conclude the Cruzin Classic against Carthage at 12:00 p.m.
