SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Behind a 32-point third quarter, the Ursinus College women's basketball team erased a halftime deficit to defeat Swarthmore College 74-53 on Wednesday evening.

Alison Lisanti paced the Bears offense tying a career-best seven three-pointers (7-of-11 3PT) in route to 21 points and four assists, while junior forward
Chinwe Irondi tallied a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard

Ursinus jumped out to an early 5-3 advantage at the 6:33-mark of the first period behind Lisanti's first three-pointer of the night. Swarthmore answered with an 8-3 run to capture an 11-8 lead, before a layup from Irondi made the deficit one with 4:33 remaining in the opening behind. Lisanti added another three-pointer in the quarter, but the Garnet ended the period on a 6-0 run and held a 17-13 lead at the end of the first period.
The Bears quickly bounced back within the opening two minutes of the second stanza scoring seven straight points to regain a 20-17 lead at the 8:04-mark. The run was started by a Lisanti three-pointer before back-to-back layups from Irondi gave Ursinus the three-point advantage. Each team traded baskets before Lisanti's fourth three-pointer of the night at the 5:11-mark gave the Bears a 25-19 advantage. The Garnet responded with an 8-0 run over the final five minutes of action and regained a 27-25 lead at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Ursinus jumped out on a 4-2 run to tie the game at 29 a piece with 7:48 remaining in the period. Behind a 10-2 run over the next three minutes of action Ursinus extended their lead to 39-31. During the Bears' run, Lisanti and Grant each connected on three-pointers while Smith added two free throws to give the Bears an eight-point advantage. The Bears defense continued to keep Swarthmore off the board while the offense added a 10-0 run to extend their lead to 18 with 2:24 remaining in the quarter. First-year forward

Makenna Foder capped the Bears run. After consecutive baskets from Swarthmore, the Bears closed out the period on an 8-2 run and held a 57-36 lead at the end of the third quarter. Lisanti and DiLello each converted on three-pointers towards the end of the period, while Ursinus outscored the Garnet 32-9 in the period. During the final stanza, Ursinus extended their lead to as much as 30 points behind a 10-1 run to open the quarter. The lead proved to be too large for the Garnet as they could only pull within 21 points as the Bears earned the 74-53 road victory.
Ursinus shot a scorching 50.9% (28-of-55) from the field, 50.0% (10-of-20) from three-point range and converted 88.9% (8-of-9) from the charity stripe. The Garnet shot 38.8% (19-of-49) from the field, just 17.6% (3-of-17) from three-point range, and 85.7% (12-of-14) from the free throw line. Swarthmore's Carly Murphy finished with a team-high 15 points while Anna Hansson added 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Bears will return to action on Saturday, December 9th as they host Muhlenberg College for a Centennial Conference matchup starting at 1 p.m.
