WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the second-straight week, the Ursinus Gymnastics team recorded over a team score of 188 points as they competed at George Washington University Friday night alongside Western Michigan, Bowling Green, and Fisk.
Ursinus posted a total score of 188.425, their second-highest score of the season, to finish fifth among the teams in the meet. The score was highlighted by a dazzling 47.900 on the vault that was the highest for the Bears as a team on the event since the 2018 NCGA East Regionals where they recorded a 47.875. The Bears recorded over a 48 on the floor for the second time in three meets (48.025) while tallying totals of 46.875 on the balance beam and 45.625 on the uneven bars. Western Michigan edged the host Colonels for the team title behind their score of 196.725.
The Bears opened the evening on the floor and continued to sizzle on the event after setting a season best of 48.250 two weeks ago at Penn. Five of the six competitors recorded at least a 9.4 with four of them scoring a 9.6 or higher. First-year
Sidney Schreiber paced the Bears once again on the floor with a team-high of 9.7 to continue her consistency on the event. Sophomore
Isabella Scarpetti matched her career best of 9.675 while classmate
Carly Troilo blitzed her previous best by nearly .5 full points with a 9.625 in her season debut. Sophomore
Megan Matteucci matched Troilo to continue her strong stretch on the floor and senior
Alyssa DeLorme tallied a 9.4.
Ursinus dazzled on the vault with five of the six gymnasts once again registering at least a 9.4 and four earning a 9.6 or better. It was also the first time the Bears hit at least a 47.900 on the vault since the 2016 NCGA East Regionals. Schreiber took a run at the Bears school record by posting a 9.775 which was the highest of any Ursinus gymnast on the vault since Kristin Aichele and Kristina Steffenhagen set the record with 9.8's back at the 2015 NCGA East Regionals. Cromer recorded a career best of 9.6 and senior
Taylor Cusick matched the score as well, which was just .25 off her career best. DeLorme set her season best on the vault at 9.525 and Matteucci registered a 9.400 that was also a career-high. Scarpetti rounded out the vault scores with a 9.275.
The bars were up next for Ursinus and Matteucci led the Bears with a 9.450 to set her second individual career high score of the night. Sophomore
Adison Tanguay followed with a personal best of her own at 9.425 and Troilo recorded a score of 9.350. First-year

Cromer capped her strong night by leading the Bears on the beam with her score of 9.675. Schreiber impressed in the first time competing for a beam score in her collegiate career by recording a 9.6 and senior
