WINONA, Minn. - The Ursinus College gymnastics team's national qualifying trio turned in a strong performance to cap off the 2023 season at the NCGA Championships on Saturday afternoon at Winona State University.
 
 
Senior Alex Panetta and junior Ashley Cromer competed on the vault in their respective first-ever appearances at the NCGA national meet. Senior Alyssa DeLorme capped off her second-straight national championship meet appearance by performing on the floor exercise and uneven bars.
 
 
 
Cromer put forth a sensational effort on the vault by recording a 9.6 and finishing 17th overall among the 47 gymnasts competing in the event. She capped off a sizzling stretch to finish the season on the vault by posting at least a 9.6 for the event in her last four meets with her career-high of 9.650 coming at the East Regionals.
 
 
 
Panetta finished her collegiate career with a beautiful effort on the vault that landed her a 9.5 which tied her for 30th overall with five other gymnasts. She completed her best season on the vault by landing at least a 9.5 in seven meets in 2023. Both Panetta and Cromer finished in the top five at the East Regional on the vault to earn their spots at the National Championships.
 
 
 
DeLorme dazzled on the floor by recording a final score of 9.650 that tied her for 25th overall with six other gymnasts. She landed at least a 9.6 on the floor six times this season and bested her previous national meet score of 9.475 set in Ithaca during the 2022 championships. DeLorme recorded a score of 8.2 on the uneven bars. She earned spots in both events at the national championship after finishing in the top five at the east regionals for the bars and floor.
 
 
 
The Bears will now look forward to hosting the 2024 NCGA National Championship meet on Saturday, March 24th, 2024.
