GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Ursinus women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Gettysburg on Sunday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
With the loss, the Bears fell to 8-4 overall and 0-2 in Centennial Conference play. Meanwhile, the Bullets improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Bullets won all three doubles matches on the day to go up 3-0 headed into singles action. Sophomores

Shannon Stewart were downed 8-1 at No. 1 doubles by Andrea Brazyte and Gillian Rozenfeld before junior

Bella Vassalluzzo suffered a setback by the same score to Avery Palandjian and Shoshi Dondes at the No. 3 spot. Senior

Claire Burke were then edged 8-6 at No. 2 doubles by the team of Catherine Haley and Sarah Guistwite.
Stewart dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Palandjian at No. 3 singles and Armour fell to Brazyte 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot. Burke fell 6-1, 6-3 to Guistwite at the No. 2 position while Samer was downed 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles by Rozenfeld. First-year
Fiona Finnerty was defeated 6-0, 6-1 by Ellie Brignati 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 spot before Compagnoni won the lone match of the day for the Bears by winning a 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 1-0 (10-7) thriller over Alex Rieg at No. 5 singles.
The Bears return to action on Tuesday, March 28th as they will host Haverford in Centennial Conference action at 4:00 p.m.
